WORDS INTO ACTIONS: DAGA Releases New Oral History Video Featuring Democratic AGs Response to Dobbs Decision

Washington, DC – Today marks two years since the Supreme Court announced its decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization that overturned Roe v. Wade and ended the federal right to an abortion. Since then, Democratic Attorneys General have been on the front lines of defending abortion access and fighting back against attacks on reproductive health care from anti-abortion activists and politicians.

The Democratic Attorneys General Association released a new oral history video today featuring several Democratic Attorneys General discussing their immediate response to the leaked opinion and the decision in Dobbs, and how they turned their words into actions. Watch the video HERE.

Statement from DAGA Co-Chairs Nevada AG Aaron Ford and Delaware AG Kathy Jennings:

“Since the Dobbs decision two years ago, we have seen relentless attacks on everything from medication abortion, to IVF, to emergency abortion care. And with every attack, Democratic Attorneys General have fought back. And just as this onslaught of restrictions and bans on abortion will not stop, neither will we. We will continue to put words into actions and use every legal tool we can to defend access to reproductive health care. And we will always protect patients and providers, especially from those who threaten to take legal action against them.

“While these attacks on bodily autonomy continue and we work to fight back, we look towards November, when abortion is on the ballot. We need everyone across the country to go to the ballot box and vote for candidates at the state, local and federal levels who will work to protect these rights, not wreak further havoc — because lives depend on it.”
