Shapiro Announced His Re-Election Efforts on January 15 With More Than $3 Million in the Bank

WASHINGTON, D.C. —
Following Pennsylvania AG Josh Shapiro’s re-election announcement Wednesday, the Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) released the statements below from DAGA Co-Chairs Oregon AG Ellen Rosenblum and Massachusetts AG Maura Healey. AG Shapiro has been a staunch advocate for the people of Pennsylvania and played a leading role in national efforts to combat the opioid epidemic, hold special interests accountable, and protect students from aggressive student loan providers. DAGA is already implementing plans to keep this key battleground seat blue, just as it did in 2016 when Josh Shapiro eclipsed 3 million votes—more than any other candidate on the ballot, including Donald Trump. And with more than $3 Million in the bank, AG Shapiro looks more than ready to repeat his success.

Statement from Oregon AG Ellen Rosenblum, Co-Chair of the Democratic Attorneys General Association:

“Pennsylvanians have a real advocate in Attorney General Josh Shapiro. His priorities are those of the people of the Commonwealth, and his leadership continues to make a difference in the lives of his constituents every day. He’s also been a vocal leader in protecting reproductive rights, including leading the national Democratic AG effort that ensured women have access to contraception. We will go all-in to support AG Shapiro in his re-election effort.”

Statement from Massachusetts AG Maura Healey, Co-Chair of the Democratic Attorneys General Association:

“Over the past three years, Attorney General Josh Shapiro has played a huge rule in elevating the office and helping people understand the critical work state AGs do to protect their communities. AG Shapiro is a true People’s Lawyer, and we look forward to successfully re-electing this progressive champion.”

Our democracy can't wait.
