Washington, D.C. – The Democratic Attorneys General Association released a new video, “Don’t Let Them.” The video calls out the Republican attempts to restrict access to reproductive care for political gain during the coronavirus pandemic.

Democratic Attorneys General are leading efforts to keep people safe through the COVID-19 crisis. This includes fighting back against Republican leaders who are using the crisis to push an ideological agenda to limit access to abortion and reproductive health care. For example, New York AG Tish James led a coalition of 18 Democratic AGs seeking to stop the State of Alabama from using the COVID-19 public health crisis as an excuse to ban almost all abortions in the state.

“Democratic Attorneys General continue to play critical roles in the Covid-19 fight to protect the people in their states and fight for desperately needed resources and essential services,” said DAGA Executive Director Sean Rankin. “But Republican AGs are pushing a political agenda that puts women and families at risk instead of focusing on the real work at hand – and they are doing it as they try to strip health care coverage from tens of millions of Americans in the middle of a pandemic. Let us not lose sight of the fact that a majority of Americans support access to safe, legal abortion, and Republicans are trying to use this crisis to pander to their base. Democratic AGs will continue to defend reproductive rights in court, and we will hold Republican AGs to account this November.”
