WASHINGTON, D.C.— The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) Co-Chairs Massachusetts AG Maura Healey and Oregon AG Ellen Rosenblum released the statement below congratulating Kamala Harris on being announced as the Democratic Party’s nominee for Vice President.
Statement from Massachusetts AG Maura Healey and Oregon AG Ellen Rosenblum, Co-Chairs of the Democratic Attorneys General Association
“We could not be more thrilled at the selection of our friend and former AG colleague, Senator Kamala Harris, as the running-mate to Vice President Joe Biden. This is an historic moment for our country and for women of color. We know Senator Harris as a steadfast, pragmatic leader who has spent her entire career fighting for the people. We stand ready to do whatever it takes to see the Biden-Harris team win at the ballot box and to see Democrats win up and down the ticket.
“Democratic AGs know how to beat Trump in the courtroom and at the ballot box—and that will be no different on November 3rd.”
Statement from Sean Rankin, Executive Director of the Democratic Attorneys General Association:
“We want to congratulate Kamala Harris on her historic nomination for Vice President. This moment reinforces what we at DAGA have known for a long time: Democratic Attorneys General are the future of the Democratic Party. She has our full support.”
“Democratic AGs have been the bulwark against the barrage of attacks coming from the Trump administration against the Obama-Biden legacy. It’s time we restore integrity at the top and elect leaders like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris who will fight alongside Democratic AGs, not against them, to move our country forward. We are steeled and ready to do the work necessary to generate a victory this November and then play our parts to repair the damage done by Trump.”
