Washington, DC — The Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) boasted about their second-quarter fundraising total of $5.3 million but withheld that 47 percent ($2.5 million) of the total came from a single donor on the final day of the second quarter, The Concord Fund.

Formerly known as the Judicial Crisis Network, The Concord Fund rebranded to disguise their push for voting restrictions in 2019. The right-wing network is run by Carrie Severino, a former law clerk of Justice Clarence Thomas, who helped craft court challenges to the Affordable Care Act, and Leonard Leo, a right-wing operative and former unofficial outside advisor to Donald Trump.

The Concord Fund led other right-wing, conservative groups in:

• Fighting the inclusion of racial justice topics in K-12 schools with a $1 million ad campaign.
• Advocating for the confirmation of  Gorsuch and Kavanaugh after receiving two separate, undisclosed donations of $17 million dollars.

The donation comes at a time when other organizations withheld donations to RAGA according to reporting by Axios, following the January 6 insurrection. RAGA’s C4 funded robocalls to encourage participation in the rally on January 6th, spearheaded by RAGA Executive Director Peter Bisbee. RAGA’s finance director resigned citing Bisbee’s involvement as a reason behind her decision.
