Washington, DC — Tonight, Georgia State Senator Jen Jordan won the Democratic primary in the race to be the next Attorney General of Georgia. The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) enthusiastically endorsed Sen. Jordan early as she is the proven candidate who will be the “People’s Lawyer” for all Georgians and will win in November, flipping Georgia’s AG seat from red to blue and making history as the first woman AG in Georgia.

“DAGA congratulates Sen. Jordan on her strong run and huge Democratic primary win. With her extensive legal experience and time serving in the Georgia General Assembly, Sen. Jordan has developed the skills necessary to meet the needs of all Georgians and excel as Attorney General. She’ll work tirelessly to use the law and her office as a powerful tool for justice, from working to protect abortion access to helping address common sense solutions to our gun violence epidemic to keeping Georgia families safe. She is the clear choice to be Georgia’s next Attorney General, and she will win in November.

“Senator Jordan will face a weakened and out-of-touch candidate in Chris Carr in November. Carr needed more than one million dollars in combined spending to fend off a fringe challenger who has never won an election in Georgia.

“Georgians deserve better from their AG. They deserve someone who will be the People’s Lawyer and will fight to keep communities safe, defend voting and reproductive rights, and protect consumers and seniors. AG Carr barely won in 2018 and does not have the will or skills to match Jen Jordan in the fall campaign. It’s time for a change, and the change is coming.”
