Dem AGs Committed to Public Safety

Washington, DC — Today, President Biden announced new spending priorities in his Safer America Plan, which is part of his FY23 budget request. The Safer America Plan funds the police and promotes effective prosecution of crimes affecting families today, invests in crime prevention and a fairer criminal justice system, and takes additional commonsense steps on guns to keep dangerous firearms out of dangerous hands.

Democratic Attorneys General have been national leaders on cracking down on crime, including filing an amicus briefing supporting the Administration’s work to rein in ghost guns.

Statement from DAGA Co-Chairs Nevada AG Aaron Ford and Delaware AG Kathy Jennings:

“The Safer America Plan is another important step from President Biden and Vice President Harris to protect Americans and invest in essential strategies that keep our communities safe. Democratic Attorneys General are proud to support the Administration’s work to take on fentanyl trafficking, organized retail theft, and dangerous weapons like ghost guns that are increasingly found at crime scenes across the country. We’re leading on these issues at the state level and across the country, and looking forward to continued partnership with the Administration and law enforcement to keep Americans safe.”
