November 8, 2022

Washington, DC — The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) congratulates Massachusetts Attorney General-elect Andrea Campbell on her historic win. She is the first Black woman ever elected statewide in Massachusetts and will be Massachusetts’ first ever Black woman to serve as Attorney General.

Statement from Geoff Burgan, Communications Director, Democratic Attorneys General Association:

Congratulations to Andrea Campbell and her hard-working campaign team for their triumphant efforts this election cycle. With her long history of public service and a career dedicated to fighting for equity and opportunity for all, she’s ready to hit the ground running and go to work for all Bay Staters. We look forward to seeing her lead on issues like defending reproductive health care, protecting consumers, and keeping kids safe. Campbell also makes history tonight as the first Black woman to be elected as Massachusetts Attorney General. AG-Elect Campbell will continue to build on the great success of outgoing AG Maura Healey, and we look forward to them serving together as Governor and AG to serve the people of Massachusetts. The entire Democratic AG family around the country congratulates both AG-elect Campbell and Governor-elect Healey on tonight’s history-making victories.”
