DAGA Congratulates Minnesota AG Keith Ellison on Critical Re-Election Victory
November 9, 2022
Washington, DC — Minnesota AG Keith Ellison won his re-election bid, defeating out-of-touch GOP nominee Jim Schultz, who lacked the legal experience needed to protect Minnesotans. AG Ellison has worked tirelessly to protect communities and defend the rights and freedoms of all Minnesotans since being elected in 2018.
Statement from Geoff Burgan, Communications Director, Democratic Attorneys General Association:
“Congratulations to AG Ellison on his decisive re-election. The choice for Minnesotans was clear: they chose the candidate who aligns with their values and puts people above politics. Since first being elected AG in 2018, AG Ellison has delivered on his promises as the People’s Lawyer for all Minnesotans. He’s worked hard to protect public safety, including fighting for stronger gun laws and cracking down on illegal gun manufacturers. He’s always put Minnesota consumers first, including standing up to bad corporate actors and protecting Minnesota’s environment. He’s been a fearless fighter on the frontlines of defending reproductive rights, including alerting Minnesotans to the dangers of crisis pregnancy centers and defending their rights after the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision. We look forward to all the great work that AG Ellison and his team will accomplish in his second term.”
