Nevada AG Aaron Ford Joined MSNBC’s Rev. Sharpton to Showcase Dem AGs’ Support for Diversity in the Fortune 100

July 24, 2023

Washington, DC — Over the weekend, Nevada AG Aaron Ford appeared on MSNBC’s PoliticsNation to discuss the concerted efforts of Democratic AGs to push back against Republican AGs’ attempts to intimidate corporations on diversity.

AG Aaron Ford told Rev. Al Sharpton, “The headline earlier said intimidate, you said threatened. And that’s exactly what 13 of my Republican colleagues are doing to Fortune 100 companies and indeed companies across the nation.” AG Ford added, “They are anti-diversity. They’re anti-business and they’re anti-economy. These Republicans, they laid out a series of what is clearly a thinly veiled and thinly disguised threat against companies who have made it a priority of theirs to have diverse workforces that affect their bottom line because it helps to better serve their diverse constituencies.”

AG Ford continued, “This week, under my leadership and with the colleagues in the Democratic Attorneys General Association, we sent a message back loud and clear that diversity makes our nation great and that it is indeed lawful for corporations to engage in DE&I, and we will stand next to them as they attempt to do so.”
