Washington, DC — Today, following a recent lawsuit filed against RAGA Chair and Utah AG Sean Reyes that raised major allegations about the Attorney General’s involvement in a controversial anti-human trafficking nonprofit and a movie he helped produce about the group, the Utah AG announced he will not be seeking reelection. Last week, The Salt Lake Tribune reported, “A Utah woman is suing Sean Reyes, accusing the Utah attorney general of using his official position to try to silence her criticism of the anti-child-trafficking exploits of Operation Underground Railroad and its founder, Tim Ballard. Ballard and O.U.R. are also named as defendants in the civil suit.”

“Sean Reyes can no longer hide from the damage he’s done. He’s been embroiled with scandal after scandal for years. He’s failed Utahns, from trying to rip away health care access from more than 100,000 people, to attacking our free and fair elections by trying to overturn the election. He’s even sided with white supremacists in order to put his political career ahead of Utahns.

“As a native Utahn, I’ve seen the harm his right-wing extremism has brought to the Beehive State. Sean Reyes tried to climb the political ladder at the expense of Utah families.”
