DAGA Endorses Congressman Jeff Jackson for North Carolina Attorney General
March 14, 2024
“The Stakes of This Race Could Not Be Higher”
Washington, DC — Following his primary win, the Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) announced the endorsement of Congressman Jeff Jackson to be the next Attorney General of North Carolina. Rep. Jackson is a veteran, former assistant district attorney, and current member of the Army National Guard. He has dedicated his life to public service and will continue to bring that record of service and transparency as North Carolina Attorney General.
Statement from Sean Rankin, President of Democratic Attorneys General Association:
“The stakes of this race could not be higher, and that’s why DAGA is proud to endorse Congressman Jeff Jackson for North Carolina Attorney General. When elected in November, Rep. Jackson will build on the great work of AG Josh Stein and continue protecting consumers, tackling the fentanyl crisis, fighting for reproductive rights, and keeping North Carolinians safe. Electing Rep. Jackson is essential to defending democracy and standing up for all North Carolinians’ fundamental rights and freedoms.
“As we work to elect Congressman Jackson as the state’s next Attorney General, we also want to acknowledge and recognize AG Stein for his track record of improving the lives of North Carolinians. It’s been a privilege to partner with you and we look forward to seeing you take the next step in leading the state when the people of North Carolina elect you Governor in November.”
Statement from Rep. Jeff Jackson, Democratic Nominee for Attorney General in North Carolina:
“I am grateful to have DAGA’s support. I’m in this race to stand up for all North Carolinians. This job is about doing what’s right, not partisan politics. As North Carolina’s Attorney General, I will always fight to defend reproductive rights, protect the right to vote, combat gun violence, put an end to the opioid epidemic, and keep bank accounts safe from scammers. I look forward to working closely with DAGA to win in November.”
DAGA is heavily investing in this race to keep this seat in Democratic hands, having already announced a $4 million reservation on broadcast and cable television. DAGA is committed to protecting AG Josh Stein’s seat as he runs for Governor — just as DAGA did in 2016 when then-AG Roy Cooper ran for Governor.
