Brenna Bird Cannot Be Trusted as Iowa Attorney General

Iowa deserves a new AG
WASHINGTON, DC – Earlier this month, the Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) announced its endorsement of Nate Willems to serve as the next attorney general in Iowa. Electing a leader like Willems, an accomplished labor lawyer who has successfully fought for working families and advocated for access to quality public education, is the only choice this fall.
For far too long, Iowa has suffered under Brenna Bird, who has done nothing but cater to the most extreme policies that have hurt Iowa families and communities. Here’s a look at how Brenna Bird has failed the people of Iowa as their AG:
- Bird has allowed the constant attacks on democracy to go unchecked and refuses to take a stand on behalf of Iowa working families and communities
- Bird has neglected to look out for her constituents and has cost the state millions of dollars in critical funding
- Bird is an anti-abortion extremist, having defended the 6-week abortion ban in court and championed the rollback of reproductive rights for thousands of women
- Bird continues to place politics over people, allowing federal government overreach by sharing Iowa citizens’ private data
Brenna Bird is unfit to serve as Iowa’s attorney general and come November, she will be replaced by Nate Willems.
