Statement from DAGA Co-Chairs on Trump’s Refusal to Commit to Peaceful Transition of Power
September 24, 2020
WASHINGTON, D.C.— Today, the Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) Co-Chairs Massachusetts AG Maura Healey and Oregon AG Ellen Rosenblum released the following statement in response to President Trump refusing to commit to a peaceful transition should he lose the 2020 presidential election.
Statement from Massachusetts AG Maura Healey and Oregon AG Ellen Rosenblum, Co-Chairs of the Democratic Attorneys General Association
“We cannot and will not let Donald Trump go unchecked as he continues to threaten our democracy. There’s no place in America for sore losers. Ours is a nation of laws—not of one man.”
“Democratic AGs know how to take Trump to court and win. We are more than prepared to do so again.”
“The will of the American people must be heard. Republican Attorneys General can decide to join us in using the power of this office to protect the vote or they can choose to sit on the sidelines while the leader of their own party makes a mockery of our Constitution. It’s long past time for Republican Attorneys General to hold the President accountable.”
