WASHINGTON, DC – The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) announced today new leadership of the organization’s Executive Committee. As Democratic AGs continue to hold the Trump administration accountable for its unconstitutional actions, the committee is preparing for the 2026 cycle with more than 30 attorney general races on the ballot across the country.

Minnesota AG Keith Ellison will join Illinois AG Kwame Raoul as Co-Chair of DAGA, leading the committee and uplifting the work of Democratic attorneys general across the country. Vermont AG Charity Clark has been elected to serve as Vice Chair. Outgoing DAGA Co-Chair Delaware AG Kathy Jennings will remain on the Committee and serve as Chair Emerita. California AG Bonta also remains a member of the Committee.

Joining the Executive Committee as new members are North Carolina AG Jeff Jackson and Washington AG Nick Brown.

DAGA would like to thank outgoing Executive Committee member Nevada AG Aaron Ford for his six years of commitment, including four years as a Co-Chair, and his service to the organization.

Statement from DAGA Co-Chairs Illinois AG Kwame Raoul and Minnesota AG Keith Ellison:
“We are grateful and honored for the opportunity to lead DAGA this upcoming year, and we welcome our new Executive Committee members. After an exciting year where DAGA was able to help flip Virginia from red to blue, electing Democratic AG-elect Jay Jones, we look forward to the year ahead where DAGA will continue to play a vital role in supporting and electing Democratic AGs across the country. DAGA continues to be a formidable force, championing our work and growing our room.

“Since Trump’s inauguration in January, we have been the first line of defense in holding President Trump and his administration accountable for his violations against the U.S. Constitution and protecting the rule of law. There is a lot of work that lies ahead in 2026 and beyond to elect more Democratic AGs to ensure Americans’ rights and freedoms are protected. In this upcoming election year, we look forward to working through DAGA to keep seats in Democratic hands and supporting candidates who will win and stand with us in our fight to defend democracy as we continue to demonstrate how effective we are when we all work together.”

Statement from Sean Rankin, DAGA President:
“As we look ahead to 2026 and beyond, we want to give a special thank you to AG Kathy Jennings for her four years serving as the Co-Chair on our Executive Committee and AG Aaron Ford for being a member of our Executive Committee for six years. AGs Jennings and Ford have been monumental leaders and staunch defenders of their states, delivering win after win for their constituents, as they will continue to do in the years ahead as AG or in new ways.”
