November 8, 2022
Washington, DC — The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) congratulates Maryland Attorney General-elect Anthony Brown on his historic win tonight. Brown has made history as the first Black Marylander ever elected to the position. Brown will build on the great work of current AG Brian Frosh and will advocate for consumer protection, voting rights expansion, and gun violence prevention.
Statement from Geoff Burgan, Communications Director, Democratic Attorneys General Association:
“Congratulations to Congressman Anthony Brown and his team for their huge win tonight. AG-elect Brown knows that there is more to be done to improve the lives of Marylanders, and he’s ready to get to work. We look forward to seeing all that he will accomplish as he builds on AG Frosh’s terrific track record. He’ll use his resources at OAG to defend reproductive rights, enforce consumer protections, expand voting rights, and reduce gun violence to keep communities safe. AG-elect Brown believes that everyone deserves a fair shot to get ahead, and as AG, he’ll work towards creating a more just and equal legal system.
“We want to thank AG Frosh for his decades-long career serving the people of Maryland from the General Assembly to the AG’s office and his commitment to bettering their lives every step of the way. We are excited to welcome in AG-elect Brown and congratulate him on his historic win as the first Black Marylander to serve as AG.”
