November 6, 2024
Washington, DC – The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) congratulates Washington Attorney General-elect Nick Brown on his historic win, defeating GOP extremist Pete Serrano. Brown’s win is historic as he becomes the first Black statewide elected official in Washington state. He will build upon Governor-elect Bob Ferguson’s legacy of advocating for gun violence prevention, upholding the values of democracy, and defending the civil and fundamental rights and freedoms of all Washingtonians.
Statement from Sean Rankin, President of Democratic Attorneys General Association:
“Congratulations to AG-elect Nick Brown and his team on his historic victory. AG-elect Brown will bring his experience and strong leadership to serve the people of Washington. Brown ran a strong campaign that highlighted his commitment to ending gun violence, protecting abortion rights, combating substance abuse, and supporting labor rights. As a former U.S. Attorney of Western Washington, Brown’s experience includes fighting drug cartels and sex trafficking, addressing the fentanyl crisis, and reducing violent crime. And we look forward to seeing AG-elect Brown build on this work as AG and continuing to fight on behalf of all Washingtonians.”
