Statement from Massachusetts AG Maura Healey and Nevada AG Aaron Ford, Co-Chairs of the Democratic Attorneys General Association
“Congratulations to Judge Merrick Garland on his successful and bipartisan confirmation to serve as the next U.S. Attorney General. As AG, we know Merrick Garland will restore the much-needed commitment to the rule of law, equality, and justice for all that was sorely lacking these past four years.”
“Garland’s leadership at the U.S. DOJ will be consequential to restoring people’s faith in government, and making progress on voting rights, criminal justice reform, fighting discrimination in all its forms, and so much more. It’s crucial we have a DOJ that works to defend our communities from threats—both foreign and domestic.”
“With so much work to do, we look forward to once again having a partner at the federal level who will fight along-side Democratic Attorneys General to create a more just and equitable justice system—one the American people can trust to protect them.”
