WASHINGTON, DC – The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) released the following statement prior to Donald Trump’s State of the Union address.

Statement from DAGA Co-Chairs Illinois AG Kwame Raoul and Minnesota AG Keith Ellison:

“Tonight at Trump’s State of the Union address, Americans will undoubtedly hear a false vision of prosperity under the current administration. As Democratic AGs whose job it is to uphold and enforce the rule of law, we see firsthand how the Trump administration is governing by lawlessness and chaos, causing millions of Americans to suffer under his leadership. Between addressing the rising costs of living to protecting vital health and childcare funds, Democratic AGs are the only elected leaders who are holding this administration accountable and racking up win after win for the American people.

“We want every American to know that Democratic AGs are protecting the very fabric of our democracy, your rights, and your freedoms. We promise to continue to fight to keep our country safe and strong and defend against the Trump administration’s unconstitutional attacks.”
