DAGA Co-Chairs Respond to Trump’s Attacks on Private Law Firms
March 10, 2025
Washington, DC – The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) released the following statement on the executive orders Donald Trump took against renowned law firms for promoting DEI practices and representing individuals he deems as his political opponent – a flagrant overreach of executive power.
Statement from DAGA Co-Chairs Delaware AG Kathy Jennings and Illinois AG Kwame Raoul:
“Donald Trump’s attacks on law firms is an egregious abuse of power and his latest attempt to silence and intimidate political opponents and those who stand for the core American values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. President Trump thinks himself immune to the confines of the law and his belief could not be further from the truth. Make no mistake, a sitting president weaponizing his office to intimidate private law firms is a direct attack on our democratic system for his own political gain. As Democratic AGs, we will continue to hold Trump responsible for his unlawful antics.”
