Washington, DC – The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) is excited to congratulate North Carolina Attorney General-elect Jeff Jackson on his win, defeating far-right MAGA extremist and Freedom Caucus member Dan Bishop and keeping this office in Democratic hands. We look forward to seeing him work hand-in-glove with current AG and Governor-elect Josh Stein to better the lives of all North Carolinians.

 This was the most expensive AG race in history, and across all entities, DAGA invested almost $7 million to power key spending on voter education, television ads, digital ads, polling, and message testing.

“We congratulate AG-elect Jeff Jackson and his entire campaign on his win. AG-elect Jackson beat a Freedom Caucus member and 2020 election denier with out of step and dangerous policy positions — and he did it by standing firm on his values and running a campaign to fight for all North Carolinians. AG-elect Jackson will use his experience as a former prosecutor to combat crime, fight the fentanyl crisis, and defend the rights and freedoms of everyone in his state. We also look forward to working with him and helping him to build on the great work of current AG and Governor-elect Josh Stein. Jackson will do well by the people of North Carolina as their next Attorney General, and we’re excited to welcome him into our room.”
