DAGA Congratulates Oregon AG-Elect Dan Rayfield on Resounding Victory
November 6, 2024
Washington, DC — The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) congratulates Oregon Attorney General-elect Dan Rayfield on his decisive win tonight. Previously, as Oregon’s Speaker of the House, Rayfield fiercely advocated on behalf of all Oregonians by passing the strongest abortion protections in the nation, increasing funding for public schools, and expanding health care access. As AG, Rayfield will continue to serve Oregonians by putting the people first.
Statement from Sean Rankin, President, Democratic Attorneys General Association:
“We congratulate AG-elect Dan Rayfield on his win tonight. The people of Oregon spoke clearly: they want an AG who will continue to put public safety first and protect their rights and freedoms. As Oregon’s former Speaker of the House, AG-elect Rayfield knows firsthand the importance of service. And he’s ready to bring his experience protecting and fighting for Oregonians to the office of Attorney General. We’re excited to welcome you into our room.
“We also want to take this opportunity again to thank AG Ellen Rosenblum for her years of dedicated service to the people of Oregon. AG Rosenblum has been my partner, mentor, and confidante for over eight years here at DAGA. Through the reorganization of DAGA, through four years of being the last line of defense against the Trump administration, and through fights to protect the rights of all Americans, Ellen Rosenblum has stood resolutely with her colleagues and our staff in historic political, policy, and legal fights. All the while, AG Rosenblum raised up Oregon, its people, and the qualities that make it such a special place. A model public servant, she has chosen the public good over personal gain time and again. Everyone here at DAGA wishes AG Rosenblum our best, we are a better organization because of her service.”
