DAGA Endorses Colonel Pamela Stevenson for Kentucky Attorney General
May 16, 2023
Washington, DC — Today, the Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) announced the endorsement of State Representative, Colonel Pam Stevenson, Retired, U.S. Air Force, to be the next Attorney General of Kentucky. Colonel Stevenson has dedicated her life to public service and brings nearly 40 years of legal experience at the local, state, federal, and international levels. Colonel Stevenson will work tirelessly to deliver for working families and protect the rights of all Kentuckians just as she has served our country in the military.
These values guided Colonel Stevenson through her 27 years as a JAG legal officer in the U.S. Air Force, where she rose to the rank of Colonel and kept military families safe by prosecuting violent crime like rape and incest. When Colonel Stevenson returned home to Kentucky, she continued to deliver for military families, providing legal services to disabled and elderly veterans who could not afford an attorney.
When Colonel Stevenson wins this November, she will make history as the first woman to become Attorney General in Kentucky’s history. Colonel Stevenson is a Kentucky native and has served as a member of Kentucky’s House of Representatives for Louisville since 2021.
Statement from Sean Rankin, President of the Democratic Attorneys General Association:
“As a native Kentuckian with deep roots in the Commonwealth, this race matters to me. The next Attorney General will have an impact on my extended family and friends and all of our Kentucky families from one end of the state to the other. With so much on the line, Colonel Pam Stevenson is the clear choice, and I am excited to announce DAGA’s endorsement of her today. Colonel Stevenson has put our country first for decades. In the U.S. Air Force, she was promoted time and again, ultimately rising to the rank of Colonel in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. She will put Kentucky families first and distinguish herself as AG just as she has in her military service. While she is a newcomer to state politics, she will draw Kentucky voters to her as they get to know her and her record of service on the campaign trail, just as I have gotten to know her and become ardent in my support of the Colonel and her campaign.”
Statement from Colonel Pamela Stevenson, Democratic Nominee for Attorney General in Kentucky:
“I am thrilled to receive DAGA’s endorsement to be Kentucky’s next Attorney General. I’m proud of my time serving our country and our Commonwealth, and I will put my experience to work in protecting our freedoms and rights. As an ordained minister, my faith teaches me that all people deserve the right to be accepted and live full lives. As the founder of a non-profit law firm, I worked to ensure veterans, the elderly and disabled were not taken advantage of. In 40 years I’ve negotiated on behalf of America, been a chief prosecutor, defense attorney, law clerk, law professor and a legislator. I’ve never shied away from a tough fight. As Attorney General, I will use the office to serve and protect everyone, just like I did in the Air Force. My office will stand for truth, justice and a world that works for everyone. It’s time to put politics aside and be champions for the people of Kentucky.”
