DAGA Endorses Greta Kemp Martin for Mississippi Attorney General
June 20, 2023
Kemp Martin is Running to Unseat Lynn Fitch, the AG Who Took Down Roe v. Wade
Washington, DC — Today, the Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) announced the endorsement of Greta Kemp Martin to be the next Attorney General of Mississippi. Born, raised, and educated in Mississippi and the daughter of a nurse and police officer, Kemp Martin understands the importance of public service in making a difference in the lives of Mississippians. Kemp Martin is running against Lynn Fitch, the GOP AG who led the way to overturn Roe v. Wade. Unlike Mississippi’s current Attorney General, Kemp Martin will put Mississippians first and fight for their rights and freedoms.
Statement from DAGA President Sean Rankin:
“Mississippi deserves leadership that puts people’s rights ahead of politics, and that’s why we’re proud to stand with Greta Kemp Martin to be Mississippi’s Attorney General. Kemp Martin has dedicated her life and career to fighting for equality and opportunity for all Mississippians, and we know that Mississippians will be safer and better protected with her as their People’s Lawyer. Kemp Martin’s opponent, AG Lynn Fitch, attacked Mississippians’ rights and freedoms with her work in the Dobbs case. Mississippians deserve an Attorney General who will fight for them, and we are proud to endorse Greta Kemp Martin for Mississippi Attorney General.”
Statement from Greta Kemp Martin, Democratic Nominee for Attorney General in Mississippi:
“I’m honored to receive DAGA’s endorsement in our campaign to become Mississippi’s next Attorney General. For years, Lynn Fitch has failed to protect the freedoms and rights of Mississippians and failed to hold the political class accountable in scandal after scandal. The people of our great state deserve better. As the People’s Lawyer, I will use the power of the Attorney General’s Office to fight for everyone.”
