DAGA Endorses Jena Griswold for Colorado Attorney General
July 31, 2026
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) is proud to announce our endorsement of Jena Griswold for Colorado Attorney General. Griswold made history in 2018 as the youngest elected Secretary of State in the United States and was subsequently reelected in 2022. From working as a voter protection attorney with Barack Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign to practicing international anti-corruption law, Griswold’s expertise is unmistakable. She’s always had the backs of Coloradans, and she will only continue to do so as their next attorney general.
Statement from Sean Rankin, DAGA President:
“Jena Griswold is a powerful trailblazer who has devoted her career to protecting Coloradans’ rights and freedoms, which is why DAGA is proud to endorse her as the state’s next attorney general. As Secretary of State, Griswold has defended Coloradans from business fraud and worked to keep their elections safe and secure. Griswold is a national leader in defending democracy against Donald Trump and MAGA extremists, and as their next AG, will continue to take on the federal government when they break the law and harm Coloradans.
“I also want to thank AG Phil Weiser for his years of service to the people of Colorado. AG Weiser has fiercely defended the state’s environment and natural resources, secured over $900 million dollars through major settlements with pharmaceutical companies, reallocated funds towards treatment and recovery to tackle the ongoing opioid epidemic, and recovered tens in millions of dollars in refunds for consumers from bad actors. We have been both lucky and inspired to work alongside him all these years and look forward to Coloradans electing him Governor this fall.”
Statement from Jena Griswold, Democratic Nominee for Colorado Attorney General:
“It is an honor to receive DAGA’s endorsement. Coloradans deserve a leader who will fight for them. As Colorado Attorney General, I will stand up to Trump to defend our democracy and freedoms, take on illegal corporate greed to protect workers and combat the affordability crisis, and ensure Coloradans have access to reproductive health care in the face of attacks. With DAGA’s support, I’m ready to keep fighting to make our state safer and more affordable for all Coloradans.”
