DAGA: “MAGA Miyares is 0-3 This Week in Protecting Virginians from Trump”
July 18, 2025
Democratic AGs filed three lawsuits to protect their constituents while Virginia AG Miyares has still refused to join them
WASHINGTON, DC – This week, Democratic attorneys general have filed three lawsuits challenging the Trump administration’s attempt to violate the Constitution and rule of law. Democratic AGs sued the administration for attempting to cut a lifesaving FEMA program that would protect against potential natural disasters, for illegally freezing $6.8 billion in school funds that would threaten vital public education programs, and for implementing a new rule that would make it harder for people to access health care under the Affordable Care Act.
Yet, Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares has refused to sign onto any of these lawsuits, bending the knee as Trump attacks Virginians’ lives, health, and children’s futures.
Statement from Carolyn Fiddler, DAGA’s Communications Director:
“MAGA Miyares is 0-3 this week in protecting Virginians from Trump. Miyares continues to put Virginians in harm’s way, allowing Trump’s egregious violations of the rule of law to go unchecked. Virginia can’t afford an AG like Miyares. As Attorney General, Jay Jones will be the leader the Commonwealth deserves by protecting Virginia’s children and families and standing up to Trump.”
