June 9, 2021

WASHINGTON, DC – The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) released the following statement from DAGA Executive Director Sean Rankin on Attorney General Mark Herring securing Virginia’s Democratic nomination for AG:

Statement from Sean Rankin, Executive Director of the Democratic Attorneys General Association

“The Democratic Attorneys General Association congratulates Mark Herring on his victory tonight. The voters recognized Attorney General Mark Herring for his leadership over the last eight years as he has tackled hard issues — defending the Affordable Care Act, guaranteeing the right for all couples to marry, reforming criminal justice laws, ending police violence, and fighting the NRA in their backyard.”

“DAGA is proud to support Attorney General Herring as he continues the work in Virginia on racial equity and civil rights, reproductive rights, and guaranteeing economic justice for all Virginians as communities return to a more normal life after the pandemic. There is no more committed or proven leader ready to serve than Mark Herring. DAGA will stand with AG Herring in the fight to come in November and work arm-in-arm with him, the other Democratic candidates, and the Virginia Democratic Party to keep Virginia blue.”

Our democracy can't wait.
