DAGA Statement on Results of Texas AG Race

November 9, 2022

Washington, DC —The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) released the following statement after the final results of the Texas Attorney General race where indicated, far-right extremist Republican incumbent Ken Paxton won re-election, defeating Democrat Rochelle Garza.

Statement from Geoff Burgan, Communications Director, Democratic Attorneys General Association:

“We send an enormous thank you to Rochelle Garza and her fantastic team for running a strong campaign in Texas. This was a close race and an uphill battle for Garza as she faced an established incumbent. Garza and her team have so much to be proud of. They worked tirelessly throughout this entire cycle, traveling all across the Lone Star State to talk to voters about changing the leadership of the AG’s office. She has spent her entire career fighting for and defending justice and equality in the courtroom and we know that her work will not end here. We look forward to seeing all that she’ll accomplish in her next chapter.”
