DAGA Statement on Results of the Presidential Election
November 7, 2024
Washington, DC – The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) released the following statement on the final results of the presidential race.
Statement from DAGA Co-Chairs Nevada AG Aaron Ford and Delaware AG Kathy Jennings:
“We know what many Americans must be feeling right now. While this is not the outcome we hoped for, we must respect the will of the voters, the democratic process, and a peaceful transfer of power.
“As Vice President Harris said yesterday, ‘this is not a time to throw up our hands, this is a time to roll up our sleeves.’ And we couldn’t agree more. We want to assure each and every American that Democratic Attorneys General will continue standing up for our democracy and civil liberties, serving as protectors of your rights and freedoms.
“We want to thank Vice President Kamala Harris, Governor Tim Walz, and their entire team for running a strong and powerful campaign. They ran on unity, love, and progress, and we are grateful for Vice President Harris’ leadership. Vice President Harris broke glass ceilings to get to where she is today, and as we look to prepare for the fights ahead, there is so much to be proud of these past four years. We will continue to work towards an America that reflects our values of freedom, fairness, and opportunity for all.”
