Washington, DC – Earlier today, Fox News reported that West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey has filed to run for Governor in 2024. The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) released the following statement on his run and tenure as Attorney General:

 Statement from Emily Trifone, Deputy Communications Director, DAGA:

“There’s a reason we call AG Morrisey ‘Pain Pill Pat.’ He has failed to address the opioid crisis that resulted in thousands of lives lost in his state and continues to pander to big pharmaceutical companies at the expense of West Virginia families. That’s not all: he’s fought to strip people of their health care and aligns himself with far-right extremists. He’s misled voters as AG and we expect more of the same during his run for Governor. West Virginians deserve better. And we can’t wait to flip this seat in 2024.”
