WASHINGTON, DC – Tonight on the debate stage, while viewers will see how Democratic nominee for attorney general Chris Mann is prioritizing Kansans, they will also see how Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach is unfit, corrupt, and will continue to prioritize himself.

Here’s what voters in Kansas need to remember about Kris Kobach:

• Kobach was mandated by a judge to go back to lawyer kindergarten after he broke basic legal rules, and even forced Kansas taxpayers to foot the bill.

• Kobach has a long history of using unreliable expert witnesses in significant court cases where the testimonies have been frequently questioned by judges for lacking credibility.
• Kobach has broken campaign finance laws several times, including when he used the scandal plagued We Build the Wall’s email lists to solicit donor names and later accepted illegal in-kind corporate donations to fund his failed U.S. Senate campaign.
  • An ethics complaint was just recently filed against Kobach for accepting donations that exceeded limits for individual donors.
• After Kansans voted to affirm abortion rights in the state’s Constitution, Kobach  has consistently tried to overturn their will with several attempts to strip away reproductive freedoms.
• Not only has Kobach done nothing to stop Washington politicians from cutting billions of dollars to the state, but he was also a board member and head lawyer for We Build the Wall, a fake nonprofit whose leaders went to prison for defrauding donors.

Kobach prefers serving himself over serving his constituents and continues to have the wrong priorities. On the debate stage, they’ll see just how he’s failed Kansas.
