Dem AGs Determined to Protect Sacred Right to Vote after SCOTUS Decision in AZ Voter Suppression Case

July 1, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C.— The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) released the following statement on the SCOTUS’s Brnovich v. Democratic National Committee decision.  Attorney General Karl Racine (DC) led the effort of 18 Democratic Attorneys General’s brief against Arizona’s voting policies.

Statement from Nevada AG Aaron Ford, Co-Chair of the Democratic Attorneys General Association:

Voting is the most sacred right in our democracy. The U.S. Supreme Court’s failure to recognize the discriminatory intent of Arizona’s voting policies makes us more determined to continue to fight for everyone’s right to vote easily. As Democratic Attorneys General, we will continue to fight to protect the right of all communities to vote, no matter the zip code, without discrimination or intimidation. Where the Supreme Court failed, our state and federal leaders must act.  We urge Congress to pass the For the People Act.”
