Democratic AGs Express Condolences for Lives Lost in Natural Disasters

December 12, 2021

Washington, DC — Dozens of Americans lost their lives this weekend in Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee in a record-setting series of tornadoes on Friday night and Saturday morning.

Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) Co-Chairs Nevada AG Aaron Ford and Delaware AG Kathy Jennings expressed their condolences for the innocent lives lost:

“Our hearts and deepest prayers are with families all across Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee today who are missing their parents, children, brothers and sisters, friends, neighbors and coworkers. We join them in prayer for the safe return of those who are still missing.

“This tragedy, in the midst of the holidays and once-in-a-generation pandemic, is an unspeakable loss for our country. There is a season for all things – for grief, for mourning, for recovery, and for healing – and we know that from this moment our country will emerge stronger than ever before.

“We are deeply grateful for President Joe Biden’s approval of Kentucky’s federal disaster declaration, Kentucky Governor and former Attorney General Andy Beshear’s leadership, and most importantly, the first responders and frontline workers trying to save lives at this very moment.”
