Democratic AGs Mark Three Years Since SCOTUS Overturning Roe v. Wade
June 24, 2025
WASHINGTON, DC – Today marks three years since the Supreme Court announced its decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization that overturned Roe v. Wade and ended the federal right to an abortion, further jeopardizing the future of reproductive health care. Since then, Democratic attorneys general across the country have been fighting tirelessly to defend abortion access, shielding it from attacks from anti-abortion activists, lawmakers, and politicians.
Statement from DAGA Co-Chairs Delaware AG Kathy Jennings and Illinois AG Kwame Raoul:
“Since the Dobbs decision three years ago, abortion and reproductive health care have been under constant attack. The Trump administration and its allies have targeted everything from medication abortion, IVF, emergency abortion care, to general reproductive care, harming millions of Americans irreparably. Republican AGs are fighting to strip away abortion rights. Democratic AGs are fighting to defend them. We will continue to stand for the right to choose and against Republican efforts to pursue and punish women and their doctors. No matter the attack, we will protect these rights with all that we have because lives depend on it.”
