Stein Filed for Re-Election on December 4th
WASHINGTON — Following North Carolina AG Josh Stein’s filing for re-election Wednesday, the Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) released the statements below from DAGA Co-Chairs Oregon AG Ellen Rosenblum and Massachusetts AG Maura Healey. DAGA is ready for the fight, especially with rumors of a $10 million+ investment in the North Carolina AG seat from the Republican Party. AG Stein is a key leader in fighting to combat the opioid epidemic, protecting consumers from spam robocalls, seeking justice for sexual assault survivors and clearing the sexual assault kit backlog, and safeguarding natural resources and North Carolina’s coast.
Statement from Oregon AG Ellen Rosenblum, Co-Chair of the Democratic Attorneys General Association:
“North Carolinians have a real champion in Attorney General Josh Stein. His leadership on issues like combatting the opioid epidemic, seeking justice for sexual assault survivors, and standing up for consumers not only helps protect North Carolinians, but sets an example for AGs in states across the country. AG Stein is a steadfast, thoughtful leader who we trust to do what is right for North Carolina. We look forward to supporting his successful re-election.”
Statement from Massachusetts AG Maura Healey, Co-Chair of the Democratic Attorneys General Association:
“In 2016, North Carolina voters put their trust in Josh—and he has delivered for the people time and time again. AG Stein has contributed to every major action protecting families and communities, and he has been fearless in taking on special interests and political corruption. As he announces his bid for re-election, we stand with AG Stein and are ready to battle back the millions the GOP will pour into North Carolina. We’re confident AG Stein will win re-election in 2020.”
