WASHINGTON, DC – Yesterday, Virginia GOP AG Jason Miyares took the stage with far-right extremist and candidate for governor, Winsome Earle-Sears, in a failed effort to show unity among the slate of MAGA statewide candidates.  

While on stage, Miyares falsely claimed to be the “people’s protector” and said, “Our republic cannot be saved if people decide to sit on the sidelines,” concluding by asking folks to “stand up, to get involved.” By being on the sidelines himself and letting Trump’s lawlessness go unchecked for months, MAGA Miyares has done nothing to protect the people of Virginia.

“MAGA Miyares is a hypocrite. He’s yet to call out Trump for his unlawful and unconstitutional executive orders that are actively harming Virginians, like cuts to the federal workforce and the decimation of critical health care research funding. Miyares can’t ask folks to stop sitting ‘on the sidelines’ when that’s all he’s done for the past five months. Come November, voters will replace him with Jay Jones, who will proudly protect and defend Virginians from Trump’s brutal attacks on their livelihoods, health, and fundamental rights.”
