AG Ford joins Katie Phang to talk about Trump’s illegal attempt to disenfranchise voters
WASHINGTON, DC – This week, Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford sat down with Katie Phang to highlight the Democratic AGs lawsuit to safeguard voting rights and election integrity after the Trump administration issued an illegal executive order that would restrict mail-in voting and limit access to mail-in ballots nationwide.
“His executive order is attempting to wrest control out of our elections […] away from the states where it legally belongs,” AG Ford said. “And it’s the latest in a long line of attempted power grabs to put himself above the law, above the will of the people, and make himself above the democratic voting process.”
- “The fact of the matter is Trump has a losing record when it comes to facing me in court. I’ve successfully blocked his harmful actions you know dozens of times in counting, and we’re going to win on this one.”
- “We’ve been planning…Our coalition has been the both the front line and the back the last line of defense when it comes to pushing back against Donald Trump and I will note this: at least as it goes against the Trump administration particularly, it’s been the Democratic attorneys general that are towing the line.”
- “But on these issues, whether it was the birthright citizenship order that came out on the very first day or these election orders, it is the Democratic AGs and frankly the Republican AGs in their states, they are riding our coattails. We are prevailing in court. we are getting nationwide injunctions even though those were under attack […] And so we’re proud of that work and we will continue doing exactly that.”
