ICYMI: Why Would Jason Miyares Accept Money from the Group that Funded the Jan. 6 Rally That Led to the Insurrection?

October 22, 2021

This week, Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring held a virtual press conference with the Chairwoman of the Democratic Party of Virginia, Susan Swecker, calling on his Republican opponent Jason Miyares to return the $500,000 that Miyares accepted from the Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA), a group that helped ignite the January 6th insurrection.

It’s clear that Miyares has made no effort to distance himself from Donald Trump and those that support his Big Lie about the 2020 election. The press conference came after AG Herring released a new ad on the subject and a Virginia Democratic Congressional Delegation released a statement that condemned Miyares for taking the money from RAGA.

So the question is, if Jason Miyares really wanted to condemn the violence that occurred on January 6, why would he accept money from the group that helped fund and organize the rally before the insurrection?

Our democracy can't wait.
