WASHINGTON, DC – Mayes Middleton is the Republican nominee for attorney general in Texas running against Democratic nominee Nathan Johnson. Middleton is a money hungry MAGA extremist who is only going to fight meaningless culture wars and protect Trump, not Texans.

Here’s how Middleton is unfit for the job:

1. Middleton aligns himself with disgraceful, corrupt politicians like Ken Paxton and even promised to follow in his footsteps.
   1. He voted against impeaching Paxton for bribery, misuse of public funds, and abuse of office, allowing Paxton’s corruption to go unchecked.
2. Middleton is an out-of-touch nepo baby who has bought every race he’s run for, self-funding his AG campaign, and giving himself over $20 million.
   1. Middleton only cares about taking care of himself. In the state legislature, he pushed a bill that threatened to kick Texans off their public beaches, which could have given his Galveston mansion private beach access.
3. Middleton has given himself the nickname “MAGA Mayes”, proclaims himself as a “steadfast ally of President Trump” and is a staunch election denier
4. He is an anti-abortion extremist who will prosecute women and healthcare providers. 

MAGA Mayes Middleton is the wrong choice for AG and has no interest in helping struggling Texas families. Texans deserve better, and they’re ready for a change. A new poll from University of Texas/Texas Politics Project has Democrat Nathan Johnson ahead of GOP extremist Mayes Middleton 48% to 47%.
