NEW: One Week Out, Polling Shows Democratic AGs Holding Strong

October 27, 2026

WASHINGTON, DC – With one week to go until the midterm elections, Democratic attorneys general are still surging in the polls ahead of their Republican counterparts in key states, while Trump’s popularity continues to tank. As reported first by The Washington Sun, “The Senate race is where the attention is, but new internal polling shared with The Sun shows there may be more to watch in the state. A survey conducted for the Democratic Attorneys General Association finds Democratic AG nominee Chris Mann leading Republican incumbent Kris Kobach, 48-44.”

According to a new poll memo from Global Strategy Group “Trump is deeply unpopular across states, and in four of these eight, he has lost even further ground over the past 2 weeks. The latest results show little evidence of AG vote intentions reverting to partisanship in more Republican-leaning territory, and Democratic candidate strength largely holding across the map as Election Day approaches.”

The memo continues “Democratic AG candidates enter the closing weeks benefiting from more than an anti-Trump climate: most also hold stronger personal ratings than their Republican opponents. Democrats hold an average 5-point advantage in net favorability, helping underpin their strength across these races. That advantage is particularly pronounced in Arizona, Iowa, and Kansas, where Democrats’ net favorability ratings exceed their Republican opponents’ by 12, 13, and 22 points, respectively.”

Statement from Lottie Ash, DAGA Political Director:
“The momentum is ours, and we’re ready to win. Voters want leaders who put people first, and that’s exactly why we’ll deliver Democratic AG victories on Election Day.”
