Statement from DAGA Co-Chairs on VP Harris Selecting Gov. Walz as Her Running Mate
August 6, 2024
Washington, DC — Today, Vice President Kamala Harris made her pick to have Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz join her on the top of the ticket as her Vice Presidential nominee. Both VP Harris and Gov. Walz know what it takes to win. Following the announcement, the Democratic Attorneys General Association Co-Chairs released the following statement.
Statement from DAGA Co-Chairs Nevada AG Aaron Ford and Delaware AG Kathy Jennings:
“Vice President Harris made a phenomenal choice in picking Gov. Walz as her running mate. As Attorneys General, we know how important it is to have a Governor fighting alongside you to defend the rights and freedoms of the people in your state. And what we know, especially from our colleague AG Ellison, is that Gov. Walz is a proven leader who has championed reproductive rights, passed historic gun safety legislation, and defended seniors and working families.
“We look forward to campaigning with VP Harris and Gov. Walz and reminding voters what’s on the line this November. We cannot let Trump near the White House ever again. The Trump-Vance ticket wants to drag the country backwards with their far-right, extremist Project 2025 agenda. We will work every day to ensure that never happens. Let’s go win this.”
