Wisconsin Can’t Afford Eric Toney as Attorney General
August 19, 2026
WASHINGTON, DC – Eric Toney, the Republican nominee for attorney general in Wisconsin, is running against Democratic AG Josh Kaul to be the state’s top attorney. Toney is unfit to serve as attorney general, failing to successfully prosecute dangerous criminals and threatening public safety.
Here’s a reminder of just a few of Toney’s shortcomings:
- As Fond du Lac District Attorney, Toney let dangerous criminals back onto the streets, including a 9-time felon who went on to shoot and kill a fireman.
- Toney failed to secure a conviction involving human trafficking, with the judge dismissing all 22 charges against the perpetrator. Those charges included revenge porn and sexual assault
- Compared to neighboring counties, Toney consistently had lower conviction rates on domestic violence cases due to making countless plea deals and failures to seek retrials
Toney will not keep Wisconsin safe. Voters rejected him in 2022, and they will reject him once more come November.
