DAGA Co-Chairs Condemn AG Paxton’s Senseless, Harmful Abortion Lawsuit

Texas Lawsuit Follows Week of Abortion Attacks from Ohio, Indiana AGs

Washington, DC — Yesterday, The Washington Post reported that “Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) sued the Biden administration over federal rules that require abortions be provided in medical emergencies to save the life of the mother, even in states with near-total bans.”

“The suit follows new guidance from the Department of Health and Human Services that asserted federal law requiring emergency medical treatment supersedes any state restrictions on abortion in cases where the pregnant patient’s life or health is at risk.”

Following AG Paxton’s dangerous lawsuit, DAGA Co-Chairs Nevada AG Aaron Ford and Delaware AG Kathy Jennings issued the following statement:

“Republican Attorneys General are wreaking havoc on our abortion access. They have shamed a rape victim, investigated a doctor who was providing legal health care, and tried to score political points on Fox News. And now the Texas AG has filed a dangerous lawsuit against the Biden-Harris Administration that would literally kill women by withholding life-saving care. This November, people across America must vote for Democratic AGs who will always protect our rights and freedoms and fight back against dangerous extremism.”
