Nicole Cannizzaro is the Democratic nominee for Attorney General of Nevada.
Early Life and Education
Nicole Cannizzaro was born and raised in Las Vegas.
Nicole earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Reno. Following college, she moved back to Las Vegas, where she earned her law degree from the UNLV Boyd School of Law and started her legal career.
Career Highlights
In 2011, Nicole joined the Clark County District Attorney’s Office. Over her eleven years as a prosecutor, she handled hundreds of criminal matters, including racketeering and fraud, child abuse, sexual assault, and homicide. She was eventually appointed as the Chief Deputy District Attorney in the Gang Unit.
Nicole has served in the State Senate since 2016. In 2019, she became the first woman to serve as State Senate Majority Leader, a position she’s held for four consecutive legislative sessions.
Attorney General Priorities
As Attorney General, Nicole will prioritize public safety, protect reproductive rights, and prevent consumers from being harmed by corporate bad actors.
As a former prosecutor, Nicole is no stranger to working collaboratively with law enforcement, and she plans to strengthen those relationships to better support local communities.
Personal Life
Nicole and her husband, Nate, are raising their three sons in Las Vegas.
