ON THE TRAIL

BIG RACE IN BIG SKY
New polling out of Montana showed Democratic AG nominee Raph Graybill tied in the initial head-to-head and leading by 13 points once voters heard about each candidates policy positions. “This race presents Montanans with a clear choice between an independent watchdog who will protect our health care and public lands, versus a partisan extremist promising to rip away healthcare and sell off our public lands,” said Raph Graybill.

BONUS: Montana’s AG debate will be taped next Friday and aired shortly after.

LEADER. PROTECTOR. ADVOCATE.
As the GOP continue to spread misinformation in battleground states, DAGA reinforced North Carolina AG Josh Stein’s leadership in keeping communities safe. DAGA Deputy Political Director Amanda Trump said, “Unlike Jim O’Neill who has failed to do enough to protect kids and women in North Carolina, AG Stein is an advocate for public safety and for the people. It’s simple: AG Stein’s record shows he knows how to work across the aisle to put children and families first. Jim O’Neill’s record does not.” Learn more about AG Stein’s strong record here.

PA RACE UPDATE: THE GOP’s SPECIAL INTEREST LAWYER
DAGA launched a digital campaign exposing Republican AG nominee Heather Heidelbaugh’s history of choosing special interests over Pennsylvania families. “It’s no surprise Heather Heidelbaugh earned a reputation for being a hack lawyer. Her history of protecting special interests over Pennsylvania families is a serious concern for voters heading into November,” said Farah Melendez, DAGA Political Director. The site can be viewed here: www.heatherheidelbaugh.org and the full press release can be read here.

MULTISTATE MOMENTS

DO NOT VOTE TWICE
During his trips to North Carolina and Pennsylvania, President Trump encouraged people to vote more than once during the upcoming election. North Carolina AG Josh Stein quickly reminded his constituents to “vote, but do not vote twice.” He went on to say, “I will do everything in my power to make sure the will of the people is upheld this November.” Democratic AGs were quick to support AG Stein and remind voters the rules of the road, including Maryland AG Brian Frosh (here), Massachusetts AG Maura Healey (here), Michigan AG Dana Nessel (here), Nevada AG Aaron Ford (here) and Pennsylvania AG Josh Shapiro (here).

USPS UPDATE
Democratic AGs continued their efforts to protect the U.S. Postal Service from attacks from the Trump Administration. Two different coalitions of Democratic AGs took new action. The coalition led by Pennsylvania AG Josh Shapiro filed for a preliminary injunction in a U.S. District Court seeking to immediately halt illegal service changes made at the USPS by Postmaster General Louis DeJoy. And the coalition led by Washington AG Bob Ferguson was granted expedited discovery by a federal judge. “We won’t allow Donald Trump’s cronies to sabotage our elections,” DAGA Co-Chair Massachusetts AG Maura Healey said.

AG SPOTLIGHT

WISCONSIN AG JOSH KAUL
With national attention on Kenosha after the police shooting of Jacob Blake, Wisconsin AG Josh Kaul spoke out against the increase of out-of-state bad actors coming into Wisconsin. AG Kaul even addressed President Trump’s Kenosha visit saying, “[i]nstead of thinking about what’s best for Donald Trump’s campaign, he and his advisors—for once—need to think about what’s best for the people he was elected to represent and not come to Kenosha this week.” AG Kaul also appeared on CNN Tonight (here), CBS This Morning (here) & CNN New Day (here) to discuss the latest on the ground in Wisconsin.
