Intro
Jeff Jackson became the Attorney General of North Carolina in January 2025. He previously served as Assistant District Attorney for Gaston County, a state senator, and was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. He has dedicated much of his career to public service and is now working to protect and defend the citizens of North Carolina.
Early Life and Education
Raised and educated in North Carolina, Jackson has dedicated his life to public service. Jackson enlisted in the United States Army Reserves, where he served in Afghanistan. He continues to serve today as a Major in the Army National Guard. He is currently in his 20th year of military service. After returning from Afghanistan, Jackson received his law degree from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
Early Career
Jackson continued his public services as Assistant District Attorney for Gaston County before becoming a member of the North Carolina General Assembly in 2014. In the North Carolina Senate, he fought for investments in public education and ushered in criminal justice reform, which included closing the consent loophole and improving expungement laws. In 2022, Jackson was elected to serve in the United States House of Representatives.
Attorney General
Jackson ran on combating the fentanyl epidemic, fixing our democracy, reforming gun safety, and protecting health care, the environment, and women’s and LGBTQ+ rights.
Personal Life
Jackson is married to his wife, Marisa, and they have three children: Haden, Owen, and Avery. He is a member of Myers Park Presbyterian Church.
